Who we are
BhaiBahini is a Nepal-focused mentorship initiative connecting young people with verified professionals in Nepal and around the world. Mentors share honest perspective, practical knowledge, and lessons from paths they have genuinely lived.
We are creating a safe, structured space where young people can explore important decisions about education, careers, skills, migration, entrepreneurship, and life direction—without being pressured toward a particular answer.
BhaiBahini means “brothers and sisters” in Nepali. The name reflects the relationship we hope to foster: human and encouraging, while grounded in responsibility, mutual respect, and clear boundaries.
Every young Nepali deserves access to trusted, honest guidance before making life-changing decisions.

BhaiBahini began with a simple belief: every young person deserves access to trusted, honest guidance before making decisions that may shape the rest of their life.
Founder Salana Adhikari has spent nearly two decades working across technology, product leadership, education, and community-building in Nepal and the United States. Throughout her journey, she saw how profoundly a timely conversation, a caring mentor, or access to someone with relevant experience could change what a young person believed was possible.
She also saw the opposite: capable young people making important decisions about education, careers, migration, and their future without access to people who could help them understand the realities behind those choices.
The vision for BhaiBahini grew from conversations Salana shared with her late husband, Santosh, about giving back to Nepal’s next generation in a meaningful and lasting way. They imagined a bridge through which Nepalis around the world could offer not only financial support, but something equally valuable—their time, experience, honesty, and presence.
BhaiBahini connects young people in Nepal with experienced Nepali professionals in Nepal and around the world.
The goal is not to tell young people what they should do. It is to help them ask better questions, understand their options and trade-offs, learn from real experience, and make informed decisions for themselves.
Mentorship through BhaiBahini is designed as a relationship of guidance—not authority, recruitment, dependency, or rescue. Young people bring their own knowledge, aspirations, and agency. Mentors bring perspective shaped by the paths they have genuinely lived.
BhaiBahini’s program is supported by Nepal-based leadership responsible for local coordination, school and community relationships, participant support, pilot operations, and learning from the realities young people experience in Nepal.
This local leadership is essential. The program cannot be designed responsibly through a diaspora perspective alone. Decisions about access, language, safety, technology, and mentorship must be informed by people working within Nepal’s educational, cultural, and community contexts.
The founding pilot in Kohalpur will help BhaiBahini learn what meaningful, safe, and accessible remote mentorship requires in practice before the program expands more broadly.
Where we are starting
BhaiBahini will begin with a supported pilot in Kohalpur, Nepal. Our first circle will bring together approximately seven to nine founding mentors and a small group of young participants. The purpose of the pilot is not rapid growth. It is to listen, learn, and understand what safe and meaningful mentorship requires in practice—from onboarding and matching to remote sessions, safeguarding, and ongoing support.
What we learn in Kohalpur will help shape a stronger experience for young people, families, schools, mentors, and communities across Nepal.
Salana Adhikari
Founder, BhaiBahini
Salana Adhikari is a technology and product leader, systems thinker, life coach, meditation teacher, and graduate researcher in Integral Ecologies. Originally from Nepal and now based in the United States, she has spent nearly two decades leading technology, customer experience, and digital-transformation work.
Her work brings together technology, human development, ecological thinking, and intergenerational responsibility. She founded BhaiBahini to help turn the knowledge and lived experience held across Nepal and its global diaspora into trusted guidance for Nepal’s next generation.

BhaiBahini is establishing a women-led Diaspora Council to help guide the program’s values, relationships, and long-term development.
The Council brings together Nepali women from different countries, professions, and lived experiences. Its role is to help BhaiBahini remain grounded in care, accountability, inclusion, and intergenerational responsibility as the community grows.
Council members may contribute through strategic guidance, mentor-community development, partnerships, cultural reflection, and advocacy for young people whose opportunities are often shaped by geography, caste, gender, economic circumstances, disability, or access to professional networks.
The Council does not replace Nepal-based leadership. It works alongside it, strengthening the bridge between local knowledge and diaspora experience.
The team behind BhaiBahini
BhaiBahini is being built by a distributed Nepali team across Nepal and the United States, bringing together product strategy, design, engineering, operations, safeguarding, and community knowledge.
We believe a platform serving young Nepalese should be shaped with Nepali youth at the center, not simply delivered to Nepal. That means listening to students, families, schools, mentors, and communities; testing locally; learning openly; and improving before we scale.
Technology can create the connection. People, accountability, and care are what create trust.
BhaiBahini is currently a founder-led mentorship initiative preparing and learning through its founding pilot.
BhaiBahini is the public identity of the mentorship program and community. It is responsible for the program’s purpose, participation model, mentor and mentee experience, partnerships, learning resources, and safeguarding commitments.
XylonTech Inc., a technology and digital-transformation company founded by Salana Adhikari, is supporting the design and development of BhaiBahini’s digital platform and technical infrastructure. XylonTech’s technology role is distinct from BhaiBahini’s program mission and community governance.
As BhaiBahini moves beyond its founding pilot, an appropriate long-term operating and governance structure will be established to support accountability, safeguarding, partnerships, and responsible growth. Any material changes to the program’s legal or operating structure will be communicated transparently.
